The 16th annual London Fiddle Convention will take place on Sunday 24 February 2008 at Cecil Sharp House, one of London's premier folk venues.

Doors open at 1:00 PM and the day begins at 1:30 PM with fiddle workshops. At previous conventions the workshops have featured many different styles - Irish, English, Western Swing, Bluegrass, Gypsy and other Eastern European styles, and Jazz.

At 5:30 PM the open session begins in the bar - all musicians welcome - a chance to try out some of those tunes you've learned in the workshops.

The fiddle contest at 6:00 PM. Entrance is free and there are no age barriers. If you are interested in entering the contest, please contact either Bob Winquist or Pete Cooper as soon as possible, as time considerations limit the number of contestants. The prize - an appearance in the main evening concert.

The evening concert begins at 8:00 PM and will feature 10 or 11 different fiddlers, representing a wide variety of styles. This concert has always been very popular for its pace and breadth.
